The Lyon Law Office has been serving clients in the State of Colorado and the State of Missouri for many years. Attorney Christopher M. Lyon is the Principal Attorney and he handles all day-to-day business at the firm. Attorney Lyon is a proud 1991 cum laude graduate of Fordham College at Rose Hill in the Bronx New York, and an honors graduate of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. After clerking at Greines, Martin, Stein & Richland in Beverly Hills, California, and working at the Hard Core Gang Unit of the City Attorney's Office in Los Angeles, Attorney Lyon chose to enter active duty in the United States Air Force as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate (JAG) where he served two tours of duty. After that, Attorney Lyon separated from active duty after nearly five years and entered a staff attorney position with the U.S. Chemical Safety Board. After five years at the CSB, he then accepted a hybrid legal and human resources position at America Online, which was followed by increasingly senior positions at Farmers Insurance/Zurich Financial Services, culminating in a Vice President position. After time spent on Wall Street with Zurich, Attorney Lyon returned to the active practice of law, taking on the role of Chief Legal Counsel at the Kansas City, Missouri School District, followed by another position in education at the University of Kansas Medical Center. In March of 2012, Attorney Lyon was recruited back to federal service by the CSB, where he worked in a series of investigative and legal positions, culminating in him holding the General Counsel position at the agency for nearly two years before leaving his post in October 2025. From that point forward, Attorney Lyon has been busy with his own firm, focused on employment and labor matters, as well as serving as a ski instructor at Keystone Ski Resort. In his free time, Attorney Lyon is focused on his wife and three children, his dog Marley, and active pursuits in the outdoors including skiing, backpacking, hiking, camping, and fly fishing. Attorney Lyon was also an active volunteer coach for many of his children's sports teams over the years, he is a member of the local Elk's Lodge in Arvada, # 2278, and he and his wife are members of Red Rocks Church.
Attorney Lyon is also very future focused. With the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI), many great technological advances are taking place in our society every day. To the fullest extent possible, The Lyon Law Firm is powered by AI and relies on technology in many ways. That said, many job losses today are occurring due to the adoption of AI, and even more will follow in the near future. Along the way, companies are not honoring the centuries old committment they have had to their employees. Besides shedding jobs to cut costs as AI is perceived to be able to eliminate employees, companies are cutting corners and making bad decisions that are impacting real people in tangible ways. That is where we come into the picture.
If you believe you have lost your job due to your employer violating state or federal laws, or you have been treated unfairly in any way in the workplace (discrimination, violation of an employment contract or an employee handbook collective bargaining provision, retaliation for protected activity, whistleblower retaliation, etc.), whether related to AI or not, then you need to contact us right away. We will help you learn about your employment rights and how we might be able to help. This help even extends to being wrongfully denied employment-related benefits such as improper denial unemployment compensation and appeals, loss of stock options or other deferred compensation, suffering from a company's failure to provide continued health insurance through COBRA, or even a negative job reference as you try to rebuild after job loss, we are here to help.
